Gene expression results
Gene Expression views explain which genes differ between the selected groups.
- Volcano plot: effect size versus statistical evidence; inspect both axes and the selected thresholds.
- MA plot: average abundance versus log2 fold change; use it to spot intensity-dependent patterns.
- Heatmap and modules: inspect coordinated sample or gene patterns, not only the top row of a table.
- Ranked table: use the comparison, direction, adjusted significance, and effect-size columns together.
Always confirm the baseline and contrast before describing a gene as up- or downregulated. A threshold is a viewing choice, not a replacement for experimental design or biological validation.
