Quality control
Quality control is the first processing stage. NotchBio checks the raw reads before cleanup so you can distinguish a sequencing issue from a preprocessing choice.
Key metrics
Section titled “Key metrics”- Total reads and read length
- Per-base quality and Q30 rate
- GC-content distribution
- Adapter and overrepresented-sequence content
Review metrics per sample and compare them with group labels. No single threshold proves that a sample is usable; investigate outliers alongside the preprocessing impact shown later in Results.
If quality needs attention
Section titled “If quality needs attention”Choose a cleanup profile in the run wizard and inspect how many reads survive. If the issue is severe or sample-specific, pause before interpreting differential expression and consult the support team.
